Born in Bogota, from a German mother and Colombian father, Federico Uribe grew up between Bogota and Hamburg in his early years. Having moved to the US and then to Spain where he graduated from time to time in Economics, Political Science and International Relations, this senior golfer has held positions of great responsibility as strategic analyst for Toyota Motors and marketing director for AIG.
In 2017 he settled in Monte-Carlo where he decided to create a fashion brand called 209 Mare. With elegant cuts, the 209 Mare jackets create a new trend in clothing: lounge beachwear. Designed exclusively in terry velvet and designed like refined jackets, they are the ideal garment for lovers of elegance worn in a relaxed way.
Inspired by clothing worn on boats or by the sea, the lines are sober and elegant with a predominance of blue, white and beige. The idea is to wear an item of clothing for men or women with the look of a blazer and the comfort of a bathrobe. The chic ally with comfort.
Today 209 Mare can boast of being sold in more than 110 countries and of being represented in hundreds of the most sought-after hotels in the world, such as the Delano in Miami, the Eden Roc in Antibes, the Ocean Reef in Fort Lauderdale and the Ritz Carlton chain. 209 Mare organized an exclusive show during New York Fashion Week in 2019, with the participation of more than 1200 guests in a restored cathedral in the East Village in Manhattan. Today, the company launches its first full collection with head-to-toe designs.
On the occasion of the Oceano exhibition, Federico Uribe came to present some of the iconic pieces in the showroom of 40, boulevard des Moulins. Suits for the boat, the beach … or just to stay at home.
